Yeah, you can only join if you buy an account or get an invite code by someone who's already there (and who has a paid account her/himself, I think).

From what someone who has an account told me, there isn't much over there at the moment though.

Aha, thanks, I'll be waiting a bit longer before I try to get an account there then :) I'm good here and most of my fic goes to ff.net anyway.

I've been wondering about this as well. It seems everybody's on there all of a sudden o.o Is it something worth creating an account for?

Oh, God, IDK, everyone's moving. It was (I think?) set up by fans at the end of 2008 in response to LJ's fail at the time. It's based off LJ's coding, but with a few improvements...? For as far as I understand? And they're a bit less likely to suspend people because they post so-called inappropriate content than LJ might be...

That makes sense! I din't really notice the whole thing with lj last year, but I heard some stuff about it ^^ From what I've seem, DW does look almost exactly like lj, I don't think I even noticed I was on a different site the first time I went there ^^;
