Okay, so I never really was a big fan of Yu-Gi-Oh GX. I enjoyed it, but I didn't like it as much as the original Yu-Gi-Oh. That all changed with the third season. Or more specifically, with the arrival of Johan Andersen. The meeting between him and Judai made me:

1. Love GX
2. Adore Johan (And Judai, and Ruby, and Hane Kuriboh, while I'm at it)
3. Convert me to a yaoi fan girl (okay, maybe nothing that drastic, but I did become a Spiritshipper the moment I saw 
    the interaction between Johan and Judai)

So the point of this paragraph was: I adore Johan. I'm gonna keep using his Japanese name because I like it (and it's a pretty common name here), and because his dub name (Jesse) reminds me of Pokémon, for obvious reasons.
I haven't watched Pokémon in years, really. I'm more of a Digimon fan. *hears shouts of outraged Pokémon fans in the distance*
