So yesterday I was discussing going to a movie with two of my friends. We live in different parts of the country, and for me and one of the other two, our university town was closest. The third, however, lives a lot farther away. So because there wouldn't be any trains for her to go back home after the movie, I propose she stays with us. Next there's mix-up of gigantic proportions.

H (me): Well, you can stay with us if you want to?
K (friend): Won't your grandma mind?
H: Sheeeeee's... Kinda dead.
K: How so? Her health's bad?
H: Grandma? You know? Died a month ago? June 30th?
K: OH! I meant your aunt.

On the one hand, well, it was funny. On the other hand, we've been friends for over two years, she's met both my aunt and my grandma, and she's been supporting me throughout the whole process, so I'm kinda miffed.

But it's a stupid thing to be annoyed about. And it's not like she's the first to mix them up. A lot of people even used to think they're the same person, mostly because I always spoke of grandmaandaunt (seemingly pronounced as one word. I didn't even know until someone called me out on it.)

On the other hand: This (Torchwood fans: spoilers for CoE) is just bad journalism.

"But crazed fans of the Cardiff-set sci-fi hit were so furious they have made threats against the show’s writers.

One, blogging on the Deviant Art website..."

*LOL* Yeah, 'cause DeviantArt is clearly the place to go when you're looking for well-phrased, balanced opinions. Just like YouTube.

That article is pure trash. It's clearly written from a very personal point of view and not from an objective journalistic POV. An objective article would never use words like "disgusting", "crazed" or "sickening". Words like that are very subjective. I find the whole article more amusing than anything else. It reads like something Rita Skeeter would write.

Pff, I know. Like one commenter pointed out, I wonder how many well thought-out reactions he had to go through to get to the ones he quoted. It's pure sensationalism and definitely doesn't qualify as a good informative piece.

Also, the 'Janto' thing cracked me up. If he found those comments, he should've been able to discover the meaning of that too.

That is the funniest piece of journalism I read in a long time. The best thing is the removal of the comments. They were very reasonable comments including the girl who threatened to kill people with ties and coffee machines.
The best thing was the commenting on Janto as a misspelling.

I was a bit angry at first, but yeah. It's like "Boohoo you're mean to me I'm gonna tell mommy!!!" (Or in this case, delete your comments)

And yes, the Janto thing... Research: you fail at it.

...I'm unsure whether to get angry or LOL at that article. o_O

I definitely LOLed at 'Janto as misspelling', though.
