London next week!!!

Swine flu aside, I'm really looking forward to it. (People who know London, where should I go to?). I'm also thinking about taking the train to either Cardiff or Bournemouth, but the train tickets are a bit too expensive for my liking, so I'm not yet sure about that.

But still: LONDON!

[Error: unknown template qotd]A bit hard to answer, but I know I would've been called Thomas if I would've been a boy (Thomas, incidentally, is also the name of one of my original characters. If you ever see him show up in fanfic, you can slap me because he's very nearly a self-insert). I'm rather fond of Ilona, but I don't ever want to be called Hélène or Helen. I don't have anything against either name, but they're just not me.

There's also Maya, but she's another character of mine (I tend to give all the names I like to my characters).

Oh, and of course there's my Chinese name, Guo Wei Heng (郭蔚恒). Means 'Forever Sky Blue'.

In other news... London )

Oh dear...

Religion tomorrow... again. And I swear, you'd think that it'd get easier, but it's still every bit as boring as last time. Same goes for all my other exams (because technically, the interesting ones I kinda passed so I don't have them anymore). Come to think of it, I can't really stand the teacher either, she insulted quite a few people in my year last time. So if she starts the whole 'you didn't study, did you?' I think I'm just going to say 'No.'

Which is technically true, because I just survived a (minor) depression that could've escalated enormously if I hadn't realised that I was depressed. I suppose that's been my saving grace. Also, I'm getting some sleep again.

London was still pretty awesome, even though I spent most of the time (you guessed it) sleeping. Got some more of the Gem Beast cards (so I'm only missing Amber and Amethyst now. And Rainbow Dragon), and went to see Avenue Q. I'm pretty scared of puppets, and one scene is definitely gonna give me nightmares, but it was worth it.  'For now' (the song) gave me a lot to think about, though. Mostly the question: 'how long is for now?'

But yeah, I'm sorta over it. Not completely, that'll take a while, and I'm foreseeing major degeneration in about two weeks, but I'm good for a bit. Probably going to my old high school somewhere in September, got invited and I love going there. Connections in high places and all. Which means that a few of the staff members and teachers are sorta friends of mine (in as far as teachers can actually be friends with their students. Not to insult anyone, it's just hard)

And still writing, of course, though for now I'm mostly limiting myself to drabbles.

Oh wow...

Watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics this afternoon, and i have only one thing to say:

London, good luck. You'll need it.

Speaking of London, we're leaving on Sunday and we're spending three days there, during which I'm gonna try and pick up the new Artemis Fowl (last time I got a book shipped it took more than two months for it to get here) and get me some new manga. Maybe I'll get the Rainbow Dragon tin, I'm not sure yet. And I want Hitchhikers 5.

We're gonna see Avenue Q, and normally I'm not very fond of puppets (they're creepy), but I kinda want to see this one, just to know what it's all about.

And I wanna go to the British museum again. Didn't get to visit last time, and the time before that I didn't have enough time to see everything I wanted to see.

Still working on some stuff, I've got at least five things left to write, and I really should get working on it (one is halfway done and I think I've reached 1/4 of one of he others, but i've got the feeling it's gonna be much longer than I originally planned)

Also, I'm tired. As in close-your-eyes-for-a-second-and-fall-asleep tired. Missed the first part of the opening ceremony because I was asleep, and it was 2 in the afternoon. Worst part is that I'm still not rested.

Oh, and update on our chicks: we've got six, three black, three yellow-ish, and they're incredibly cute! The oldest one is now officially Wafje ('Woofie', long story), the others don't have names yet. Suggestions, anyone?

My mom got me terribly angry when she left them outside the entire day two days ago, though. It was hot (25 °C) and I'd given them water that morning, but I was gone for the entire day and they usually topple over their water after 30 minutes. Which resulted in me getting home that evening and having to scramble to save them from dehydration. I wasn't happy.

Meh...

Although I'm terribly happy to be going to London, I just discovered that we'll be staying 'till Thursday, instead of 'till Wednesday, as I thought. This means I'm gonna miss the final GX episode in 'real time' (or as real as it gets when you can't watch it on tv). Of course, I can just watch it Thursday, but i was kinda looking forward to watching it on Wednesday. I'm gonna take my laptop with me, though. I need to get some writing done, and just maybe there'll be internet access in the hotel.

I'm also gonna try to get my hands on the new Torchwood books, and the GX manga, if I can find that. Which reminds me that I still have to order Sound Duel 2.
Gonna try to get some more money, my birthday's coming up after all. I still don't know what I want, I've been trying to tell my parents that they can just give me money, but since it's my 18th birthday, thy want to give me something 'lasting'

Also, Fanboy!Judai in GX 179 made me giggle inappropriately.
