Sometimes I wonder why my nickname is still Heleentje if everyone calls me Heleen anyway.

Not that I mind, though, it IS my name after all. But when I come across conversations in which random strangers I have never talked to in my life (as far as I know)  refer to me by my given name, it kinda weirds me out.

No, not telling what brought this on.

I know Heleentje is nigh unpronounceable for most, that is why I tell people I often talk to to just call me Heleen (heck, short of sending people a voice file with me pronouncing it, I myself do not know how to explain the pronunciation). But it is my nickname. It has been my nickname for over seven years. People I have talked to can call me Heleen all they want, but I draw the line at strangers.

I guess I just feel like my privacy is being breached somehow. Even though I have none to begin with.

Oh well, since this entry might as well contain something more than me angsting and since I cannot pass up the opportunity anyway: [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti ! The list of Yu-Gi-Oh offers can still be found here.

I want to remind everyone that you can still make offers and bid at [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti. All money is donated to a charity supporting Haiti.

I myself have threads running here (fic), here (chocolate), here (3D cards) and here (a bib). For people in the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom, here is a link to the list with people who offered to do something involving Yu-Gi-Oh. It will be updated regularly throughout the week, until bidding closes.

Thank you everyone, you were absolutely fantastic. This list started out with 8 names on it, but it's almost quintupled since then. The people on this list were worth $881! People, give yourself a round of applause, you were amazing.

Over at [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti  many wonderful people are offering their services to support the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Since the amount of offers is quite overwhelming, I decided to create a list of all the people who offer to create something that involves Yu-Gi-Oh.  This list only mentions the people who specifically mentioned Yu-Gi-Oh in their posts, but many people are also offering 'all fandoms'.
